Micro Churches
Micro Churches are small groups of believers, connected by a shared mission or calling, and devoted to practising the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Imagine a world where the church extends beyond the walls of a building, or the boundaries of service. Instead, picture the church as a community of believers, living out their faith in their daily lives, and united by a common goal of making disciples. This is the concept of Micro Churches. They are small groups of believers, connected by a shared mission or calling, and devoted to practising the teachings of Jesus Christ. Micro Churches are not restricted to a physical location, rather, they are a spiritual family that exists wherever their members reside, work, and exist.
In a society where many individuals feel disconnected from traditional churches, Micro Churches offer an alternative that is more genuine, relational, and accessible. By congregating in homes, coffee shops, parks, and other informal environments, Micro Churches provide a secure and inviting space for individuals to explore their faith, create connections, and mature as disciples. While not a new concept, Micro Churches are gaining popularity as a way to experience church in a more intimate and personalized manner.
Within IPC London, there are five Micro Churches known as Love, Hope, Grace, Faith, and Favour. These groups are easily recognizable by their respective colors – Red, Green, Blue, Orange, and Purple. Alongside our regular bi-weekly after-church meetings, Micro Church members also gather for spiritual and social activities outside of the church setting.
Each Micro Church is led by a team consisting of a leader, assistant, and secretary who oversee the affairs of the group. The leaders are responsible for checking in on members, following up with them, and praying with them as needed. Through these efforts, the Micro Churches have been instrumental in fostering a sense of family and community among group members.
